AnneSophie Hoffmann

She was a child when AnneSophie discovered her affinity and her talent for the arts. Throughout her youth in Paris, she studied literature, theatre, and music. She quickly discovers her true passion, singing.

At the age of 17, with no other baggage than her passion and her dreams, AnneSophie left her family, friends, and Paris to settle in Montreal, Canada. For three years, guided by Quebec artists, she worked fervently. She learned how to use her voice, to serve the texts and music she chooses to interpret. This charismatic young woman quickly knew how to combine vocal power with the music of words.

In 2004, author Frédérick Baron and composer Luc Plamondon (Céline Dion) offered her a more personal repertoire. Composer and director Michel F. April and the young singer then decided to join on the production of her first album of original songs. Collaborations with French and Quebec songwriters resulted in songs that reflected her taste for travel, her attachment to Quebec, and nostalgia for her native land.

As for the stage, AnneSophie takes every opportunity to perform, in addition to her many appearances in musicals and her gigs as a chorister, AnneSophie performed at the Festival d’été de Québec as part of the « Le plus beau rythme de l’été » contest organized by Rythme FM in 2005. She performed one of her original songs as an opening act for singer Corneille and won over the audience.

In 2006, strengthened by all these experiences, AnneSophie presents her first show of her own: Envie de loin. The audience then discovered a top-level performer and author who seduced by her humor, lucidity, and sensitivity.

In 2009, the equestrian show Cavalia is looking for a voice to match a grandiose show. AnneSophie’s voice is chosen by Michel Cusson for the North American tour that will last nearly 2 years.

Upon her return to Montreal, between her performances of Simply Broadway resident at the Rialto Theatre, her participation in the shows of crooner Colin Hunter, her performances in British Columbia and Alberta for the Hope International Foundation, AnneSophie discovers a passion for teaching. She shares with her students a technique that she has developed over the years, imaginative, precise, and reliable.

All singers who pass through her class, beginners, amateurs, and professionals alike, come away from it with extremely useful tools to master their instrument. Interpretation also takes a great place in her teaching, from the comprehension of the texts to the accuracy of each emotion of the words and the music transmitted by the eyes, the body, and the voice.

AnneSophie stages numerous shows, musical revues for which she creates the choreography, humor singing shows for which she writes the texts, acoustic shows…featuring her students because this very talented, generous, and inspiring performer also finds happiness in watching her ‘protégés’ blossom on stage, feeling joy and pride under the spotlight.

This is why, in 2016, she creates ARTÂM, a company featuring ‘her’ singers who are prepared and coached to offer high quality shows to an audience that is always delighted and impressed by the level of professionalism of the company.

AnneSophie now lives in Saigon, Vietnam, and continues to pass on her passion for singing and stage to students among others, Starmania, directed by AS Hoffmann, Marguerite Duras international school, and Dragonfly Theater Education.
