AnneSophie Hoffmann

Growing up in Paris, AnneSophie studied literature, theatre and singing. Inspired by the Quebec voices she admired, at 17 — with nothing but her passion and her dreams — she left her family, her friends and Paris behind to settle in Montreal.

In 2004, she met Luc Plamondon, Yves Décary and composer Germain Gauthier, who offered her a more personal repertoire. In 2005, Michel F. April offered to produce a demo, with songwriters such as Frédérick Baron (Céline Dion, Bruno Pelletier…). Her collaborators’ enthusiasm turned the demo into an album of twelve original songs: Envie de loin…, written and recorded in Montreal in 2005-2006.

She opened for Corneille at the Festival d’été de Québec (2005), winning over the audience. In 2008, Michel Cusson chose her as the voice of the equestrian show Cavalia: she gave more than 500 performances from Lisbon to Miami by way of Chicago, night after night in front of 2,000 spellbound spectators.

Back in Quebec in 2010, she shared the stage with Simplement Broadway at the Théâtre Rialto, collaborated with jazz crooner Colin Hunter and performed for the Fondation Maman Dion. After 15 years in Canada, she moved to Vietnam in 2018, where she became the singer of choice for Ho Chi Minh City’s biggest events and directed Starmania at the Lycée International Marguerite Duras.

In June 2022, AnneSophie began a new adventure in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She has performed for the embassies of France, Vietnam, Belgium and Canada, and at the Women in Tech® MENA Awards ceremonies in Riyadh and at the Assemblée Nationale in Paris. She teaches musical theatre and singing at the École Française Internationale de Riyad (EFIR) and gives private lessons to children and adults.
